Teen Dies After Overdose at Electric Daisy Carnival Rave

Published by
Samer Habbas, Esq

KTLA News reported that up to 100 participants required hospitalization during the Electric Daisy Carnival rave held June 25-26 at the Los Angeles Coliseum, many for drug-related conditions. There was at least one fatality arising from the event. Sasha Rodriguez, age 15, died from what officials are saying was a drug-related accident. Emergency personnel transported her to a local hospital in a comatose condition, and she remained in a coma until her death on June 29. Experts said that the cause of death was an overdose of Ecstasy, a mood-altering drug frequently used at rave events. Officials are investigating how the minor gained entrance into an event with an official age limit of 16 years and up.
