More than a dozen people were injured in a crash on Friday, June 3rd when a Greyhound bus traveling from Los Angeles to Phoenix blew a tire on the 10 Freeway in the Cabazon/Banning area. The crash happened on eastbound lanes shortly before 11 a.m.
The Greyhound, that was carrying 33 passengers and traveling at approximately 60 to 65 mph, lost control when a left front tire blew out. The bus skidded left and hit a Mitsubishi Outlander in the next lane, then struck the center divider.
One of the bus passengers suffered major injuries and another 10 suffered minor injuries. They were all transported to local hospitals. The two victims in the SUV were also taken to local hospitals.
California Highway Patrol (CHP) is currently investigating the facts of the accident.
