Associate Attorney Samar Hellar was born in Los Angeles and raised in Orange County, California. Mrs. Hellar received her undergraduate degree in Political Science, with a minor in Human Rights, from the University of California, San Diego (UCSD). While attending UCSD, Mrs. Hellar was involved in various organizations, including being an active member of Chi Omega Women’s Fraternity.
Her educational background and passion for helping others propelled her to continue her education and become an attorney. Mrs. Hellar obtained her Juris Doctor degree from California Western School of Law (CWSL) and graduated Cum Laude. During law school, Mrs. Hellar continued to be involved in several on-campus programs and organizations, including being selected as an Honors Instructor for Legal Skills and becoming the Vice President of CWSL’s Public Interest Law Foundation during her second year of law school. As a law student, Mrs. Hellar received academic excellence awards for obtaining the highest grades in two courses: Legal Skills and Professional Responsibility, Professional Skills, Prevention & Problem Solving, & Advanced Legal Writing. During her third year of law school, Mrs. Hellar gained valuable practical experience as a Legal Extern at a law firm centered around class actions and consumer law.
After law school, Mrs. Hellar joined the Law Offices of Samer Habbas & Associates as a Law Clerk. This position allowed Mrs. Hellar to gain invaluable work experience from every stage of a case, from pre-litigation through litigation, while shadowing and working closely with talented and experienced attorneys and staff members. As a Law Clerk, she developed and demonstrated her exceptional legal writing, client communication, and advocacy skills. Mrs. Hellar remained with the firm as a Law Clerk until she passed the California Bar exam and became a licensed attorney in California. Following her admittance to the State Bar of California, she was promoted to Associate Attorney. Mrs. Hellar is committed to helping her clients through the legal process and advocating for her client’s right to receive their justly owed compensation.
