- In accidents
On Monday night, March 28th shortly before 7 p.m., a Metro bus was involved in a collision with three other vehicles at Western Avenue and Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard in South Los Angeles. The accident sparked a fire that quickly spread to the public bus, which was occupied by only the driver. Although the Los Angeles Fire Department quickly knocked down the flames, the bus sustained extensive burn damage and broken windows around the middle. The bus appeared to have been T-boned by a car, which was also severely burned and apparently totaled.
The Los Angeles Police Department helped remove the victims from the burning vehicle. The collision left seven people injured, with two of them in critical condition. Six of the victims were taken to a nearby hospital and one individual opted not to go.
Who May Be Responsible For Your Bus Accident Injuries
If you or a loved one has been involved in a bus accident and have suffered serious injuries, you may be entitled to monetary compensation. Bus accidents can present complicated issues of liability, since more than one party may be liable for your injuries. As such, it is imperative that you hire a bus accident attorney who has successfully handled these types of cases and will take the necessary steps to determine who is responsible for your injuries and hold those parties liable.
In order to determine who is responsible for your injuries resulting from an accident, your attorney will need to thoroughly investigate the facts of your case. Some of the important things that your attorney needs to properly investigate are how the accident occurred, who are the parties involved in the accident, and what type of bus (whether private or public) was involved in the accident. Only then can your bus accident lawyer determine what parties to go after to seek compensation for your injuries.
Getting the Compensation That You Deserve For Your Bus Accident Injuries
Once your attorney has determined the parties that may be liable for your bus accident related injuries, he may seek compensation for the following depending on the specific facts of your case:
- Past and future medical expenses
- Loss of wages
- Loss of future earning capacity
- Pain and suffering
- Emotional trauma
- Any other out of pocket expenses related to the incident
