One Woman Dead, Two Children Injured in E-Bike Accident on San Juan Creek Trail
The Orange County Sheriff’s Department responded to reports of a bicycle accident around 8:30 p.m. and dispatched Orange County Fire Authority to the scene—north of Creekside Park.
The woman was pronounced dead moments after emergency personnel arrived. Both children, under the age of five, were transported directly to the hospital.
County officials have not yet released the identity of the deceased woman, the speed the e-bike was moving before the crash, or the children’s current conditions since being admitted to the hospital. The fatal accident is currently under investigation by the OCSD.
The Law Offices of Samer Habbas & Associates send our deepest condolences and heartfelt sympathies to the family and friends of the deceased.
Southern California has recently seen a lot more bicyclists on the road, especially riders on electric-powered bikes. Although e-bikes have become increasingly popular for both recreational and transportation purposes, it is important to understand that they also carry a higher risk of severe injuries than traditional bicycles and a different pattern of injury risks compared with scooters.
If you or a loved one has suffered injuries in a bicycle accident caused by the negligence of another party, you may be entitled to compensation.
