Pedestrian Accident in San Gabriel Settles for $250,000

habbasSan Gabriel, Calif. — The attorneys at the Law Offices of Samer Habbas & Associates secured a $250,000 settlement on a pedestrian accident case. The plaintiff was walking across an intersection when they were suddenly struck by an oncoming vehicle.

The plaintiff briefly lost consciousness immediately after the collision. She was directly transported to the nearest hospital, where she was required to stay for about three weeks. The accident caused her to suffer a series of traumatic brain injuries and bone fractures. From a thorough examination, doctors found the plaintiff sustained a subdural hematoma, subarachnoid hemorrhage, and multiple fractures in her ribs, back, and right ankle. The extent of her injuries led to multiple rounds of surgery.

The at-fault driver neglected to examine the crosswalk for any pedestrians before passing through. With an official police report containing statements from our client, the negligent party, and another witness, the evidence showed no argument on liability. The insurance companies continuously delayed our client’s claim, but our attorneys were persistent to get our client the maximum amount she deserved. Using that aggressive approach, we were able to settle with both insurance companies in pre-litigation, for a total of $250,000.
